Installing a new FieldDesk client

To install FieldDesk on a new device:

  1. Find the “Sync” folder in your FieldOPS data directory.
  2. Copy the contents of the “Sync” folder to a USB drive.
  3. Create a folder called “FieldDesk” on the C: drive of the new device.
  4. Copy the contents of the “Sync” folder into this new “FieldDesk” folder on the new device.
  5. Run the FieldDesk application (fielddesk.exe)
    • Note: if you’re using Windows 7 or 8, run the program as Administrator the first time.
      • Right Click “fielddesk.exe” and select “Run as Administrator”
  6. When FieldDesk loads, go to the Setup/Settings menu to initialize the tablet for the assigned technician.

Note:  The assigned technician needs to be a member of the “Mobilogic FieldDesk” group in FieldOPS.  Also, the technician needs to be assigned a paging device.
